How Much Does It Cost?
If you choose to use our standard DocShuttle system, our rates are based on a 65-character line, so it does not matter how fast or slow you dictate or the layout of your forms. You will never pay for a line of only a few characters, as 65 keystrokes always equals one line.
We offer a standard less than 48-hour turnaround time Monday through Friday at a rate of 12 cents per line for clinics. Twenty-four-hour turnaround time is available at 14 cents per line and stat turnaround time of 6 to 8 hours may be requested for 16 cents per line. Turnaround times are guaranteed and you will not be charged for any transcription that does not meet your contracted turnaround time.
Our hospital rates differ from our clinic rates; please contact us for details regarding pricing for hospital transcription.
If you choose to use our call-in system as opposed to our standard DocShuttle system, we will need to obtain some information regarding the volume of dictation to determine the rate, as the number of minutes as well as the number of lines are considered in pricing.
Billing generally is twice monthly, though this is a negotiable term, net 15 days - 1.5% late charge. You may choose the method in which you receive invoices, i.e., email, U.S. postal service, or fax.
As we are a small company, we may also offer some degree of flexibility regarding pricing and billing, i.e. if you prefer to pay a flat rate per month, we will work with you in determining a rate that is within your budget and also satisfies our financial requirements.
Who pays for the equipment/software?
Standard DocShuttle Program:
The software program used to securely transfer voice files to our FTP site and then transfer the finished transcription back to you is provided free of charge by TTS. Also, installation and training are provided free of charge.
It is the responsibility of the clinic to purchase handheld recorders for the healthcare providers who will be dictating. Handheld recorders may be shared by up to five providers or each may have his/her own. Handheld recorders may be purchased through TTS at cost or you may purchase your own from Bytescribe or a retailer of your choice.
We recommend the Olympus DS-30 handheld recorder, which may be purchased through TTS at a current cost of $115.00 (this price includes shipping and handling). If you already have handheld recorders, you may not need to buy new ones. Most handhelds are compatible with the HIPAA-compliant software program we use, and we would be happy to check on compatibility for you.
WebShuttle Program:
Again, the software program, including installation and training, is provided by TTS free of charge. The telephone dictation uses a toll-free phone number so there is no charge for the calls.
